I first came across this kid when i was on kanye west's blog. kanye featured a song called talamak that was bananas. if you're in to indie/hiphop/experimental, i definitely would recommend you check them out. i still dont know whether this a solo artist, or if its two people. all the pictures just show one person, but the name is toro Y moi. ima do sum research on that one. you can go to toro y moi's myspace, or check them out on youtube. good find.

found out about these boys when i was looking through another blog. the kids are from Jersey, hence the name Jersey Klan. this makes me wanna move to the east coast man. so much is poppin over there. tribute: Afta-1

this dude has been around for awhile, and im starting to find out that a few people already know about him. good. Anyways, I still wanna give a tribute to Afta-1. Dude's doing a lot of things, for me at least, that creates inspiration. I can turn on any song from his volumes and catch a vibe. His sound is completely unique. When I first heard Afta, I thought of Dilla. His offbeat style, his soulful samples and the relaxed vibes, damn, sensational; and, his synths put the icing on the cake. If you haven't already, go cop his latest volume or any of his mixes with Gas'd, you can thank me later.

watch: Gil Scott Heron

recently, I've gotten into video, and i thought this was the perfect example of how video and sound should collab. The song is by Gil Scott Heron, a much respected poet and singer. Its off his upcoming album called Im New Here. I honestly was taken aback (yes aback) by the lyrics and how well everything flowed together. The imagery and the black and white effects made the words of the song come to life, Me and The Devil, is the title by the way. And then, when i was thinking the madness was over, Gil recites a poem, what? craziness. film was directed by Coodie, Chike, and Michael Sterling Eaton. good find. potent sht.

so, finally got around to making this thing pop. i basically wanted to start a blog that features a lot of unknown sht. People that you dont hear on the radio or at the club. wholesome sht. it'll mainly be hiphop, indie, some rock; really it'll be anything i find interesting.
