It's official

i am the owner of this beautiful machine. If i knew how to hook-it up to my already basic system, life would be perfect. Until then, it's a beautiful struggle--jihad.

Somethin New - Roger Linn

I was at the studio last nite and I was talking with the engineer there, #shoutouts to dave, about MPCs and MPDs. He brought up a name, Roger Linn, that i have never heard of before, and what a shame on me. So, I did a little research on Roger Linn and found out that he was the pioneer for inventing the first drum machine(LM-1 Drum Computer). This drum machine was the first machine to sample and actually have drum kits stored/loaded in it. Now, think about this, where would our music be without this invention. Where would hiphop be? Nowhere, thats the answer. Roger Linn did us hiphop lovers, samplers, and indie/experimental lovers all a favor. #shoutouts to Roger Linn. p.s He also did wonders for the quantization feature on the MPCs. God bless this man.

N.E.R.D

G and I were talking, and he thinks that a lot of folks are sleeping on the infamous N.E.R.D, is this true? Do people not know about the trio? if so, damn. N.E.R.D cannot be slept on, i refuse to let it happen. N.E.R.D has been around since the 90s producing tracks for artists like the Clipse, Santigold, Kanye, Britney Spears.. the list goes on. They have 3 albums and other side bands/projects--the clones and the neptunes. Their sound is a collective of hiphop and alternative rock, which fuse together extremely well. Their latest album "Seeing Sounds" peaked at #7 on the charts and sold over 80,000 records in the U.S. Please, if you havent heard of N.E.R.D, step ur game up!

have you been Washed Out?

Gino helped me out with this find, my regards to G. You have a good ear. This group/guy is incredible. the genre is similar to toro y moi--indie/experimental. The one thing that is completely different is the actual sound of his tracks. the sound is dirty and muffled, but in a good way. It has a certain 70s disco vibe that im also kinda feelin. feel good music.
